The Fully Reversible Timber Window

Munster Joinery has developed a fully reversible timber window which is available in top swing or side swing versions.  The sash can be rotated fully to enable the window to be cleaned from inside so that it is ideal for use in multi-storey applications.  It provides ease of operation with the design features of Scandanavian style windows and a weather performance needed for our climate.  The window combines the warmth of 90mm Solid timber frame with the most up to date glazing technologies to give a very thermally efficient window..

EcoClad:

The EcoClad range combines the structural strength, corrosion resistance, durability and recyclability of aluminium with the warmth, thermal efficiency and aestethic advantages of natural finish wooden window on the interior. The exterior frame is manufactured from extruded Aluminium alloy section coated with architectural grade power. Uniquely, decoral technology allows us to offer a range of woodgrain effect aluminium finishes as well as a range of RAL colours. The interior frame/sash is manufactured from laminated pine profiles specially developed for use in high performance joinery products. The timber is factory finished with a translucent water borne spray paint to give excellent adhesion and a professional finish.

Eco friendly thermal glazing options include :

• Triple glazed unit
• Low emissivity coatings
• Warm edge spacer bar
• Krypton or Argon gas fill
• Center pane U-value as low as 0.5 W/m²K
• Aluminium is a fully recyclable material with no downgrading of its properties. Timber is supplied by sources with chain of custody certification for Eco friendly management policies

The Bi-Fold Door

This door combines precision engineering with the natural beauty of wood to give a door which folds back completely to optimise the use of space in your home.  It allows your living room to be filled with light and air while allowing seamless traffic  between garden and living areas even if the available space is quite limited.  It      allows a relaxing out door occasion to flow smoothly from outdoors to indoors.

Heritage Sliding Sash Window:

We have developed a timber vertical sliding sash window which is ideal either for the protected building where planning requires it or for the new build where traditional elegance is sought.

The window marries the style and elegance of this timeless design to the best of modern technology to give a high performance window with class.

Passive Window

Designers and architects are beginning to design and specify Passive houses.  A passive house is a building, which gives a comfortable indoor climate in  summer    and in winter without the need of a conventional heating system.  Passive house design involves careful orientation and optimum use of solar gain.  A key part of the fabric of any passive house is the window.  There are stringent requirements for passive windows in relation to thermal efficiency and solar gain.

Munster Joinery are now introducing a passive timber window which meets all these requirements.  It will be available in both triple glazed and quadruple glazed formats featuring :

• Low emmissivity glass layers
• Argon and Krypton filling
• Warm edge spacer bar technology
• Low Iron glass

Passive housing is the building technology of the future.  The windows can give a ground breaking U-value as low as 0.58 W/m ²K to keep pace with future developments.
